Project Description:

The overall objective of the Adriatic & Beyond project is to develop and promote joint cross-border tourism products, thereby increasing the region’s attractiveness and competitiveness in international markets while enhancing the digital capabilities of participating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project will:

  1. Develop two new cross-border tourism products that showcase the combined strengths of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
  2. Enhance the visibility of these products in international markets, thereby attracting more tourists to the region.
  3. Enhance the digital skills of SMEs, enabling them to promote their services and attract international customers effectively.
  4. Strengthen cooperation between tourism operators across borders, resulting in a coordinated, competitive regional tourism offering. 

Montenegro Adventures (MNE), Ventula Travel DMC (CRO), and iHouse Travel (BiH) have formed a consortium under the EmBRACE Project.

Together, we have developed two innovative cross-border itineraries:

The Adriatic & Beyond concept aims to develop a regional umbrella identity for tours, promoting the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the three countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

Our shared mission is to promote sustainable tourism by weaving together the natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality of all three countries into one seamless, unforgettable journey.

A big part of this effort is the development of the two Adriatic & Beyond regional thematic routes that would be used as a basis for creating new regional itineraries, with a modular approach, made from the building blocks created by each of the DMCs, with in-depth knowledge of their destinations and expansive understanding of the supplier’s network.

The leading idea of the consortium was to pick two topics/routes that would be researched in detail by the three partnering tour operators and to discuss how these topics could be transformed into different itineraries that could appeal to travellers from long-haul markets, to seek the new avenues to reach either the new markets, or new segments of the existing markets, and to enhance collaboration between these operators not only during the project period but at later stages as well – to support each other logistically and during the execution of the regional itineraries, particularly in case of individual and small group travel.

New products feature elements of travel and socialising, often away from crowds and large groups, allowing for experiences that highlight cultural aspects or engage in more activities in nature. They include individual or small group travel and off-the-beaten-track experiences. They promote travelling in shoulder or low seasons, focusing on caring for tourists and the destination and emphasising value-for-money propositions.
