Herzegovina Origins

– Neum 8 days / 7 nights
– Accommodation at Herzegovina Lodges
– Transfer from and to Sarajevo (airport)

Intro:

During your journey: “Herzegovina Origins” we will take you through the most beautiful regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The transition from Sarajevo (one of the three possible airports), mountainous and with a continental climate we move towards the Mediterranean Herzegovina. On the way we see changes in the landscape,  in the flora and fauna and the type of constructions.  Traveling with a lot of surprises: visit the “locals”, a peek at one of the small farms high in the mountains of Prenj or Visocica, refreshment in the mountain lake or the beautiful Neretva River or discover “unknown” Mostar.

The best way to discover Herzegovina is by foot. You will hike through beautiful, sometimes raw landscapes and little villages. Of course there will be time to rust and enjoy the nice views with a beautiful panorama. Herzegovina is really a place where East meets West. The melting pot of different cultures and nations in one place, of turbulent history. The different nations have left their mark: whether in architecture or in gastronomy and perhaps most of all in culture.  It is a Country of Bogumili. A Country of figs and pomegranates and a country of sun and honey.

Therefore, Herzegovina Lodges will give you the opportunity to enjoy the authentic Herzegovinian specialties, wine routes and a lot of other little surprises that we will meet on our way through unfamiliar Herzegovina.

Depending on the group there can be chosen for a transfer with an old bus from Herzegovina Lodges to Konjic. It takes about 30 minutes.  The theme of today’s walk through Konjic is to see the multicultural Bosnia and Herzegovina and hear and see the stories about Tito. One of the activities will be the visit to Tito’s atomic shelter, which was one of the most expensive investments during socialistic Yugoslavia.  You will be guided by an official guide of the Tourist boards of Konjic. If possible, we will visit the market (depending on the day of the visit). Dinner will be in a restaurant in Konjic, to feel the atmosphere in the evening.
